Hundreds of actors, directors, animators and more have just been invited to join The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences!

2026 Oscar nominees Jacob Elordi and Teyana Taylor, as well as Jenna Ortega, are among the actors who have “distinguished themselves by their contributions to motion pictures,” and received to join the Academy, whose members vote on the Oscar nominees and winners each year.

This year’s list of invitees was unveiled on Wednesday (June 24), and includes 95 Oscar nominees, 21 Oscar winners and more!

Those receiving invites comes after a process starting with sponsorship, not application, where they executives of each of the 19 branches of the Academy, and one “membership classification,” identify candidates they deem worthy of membership into the organization. The recommendations are then reviewed by the membership committee and presented to the board of governors for final approval.

There were even nine people who were invited to join multiple branches and have to choose which one when accepting the invite.

“We are delighted to invite this remarkable group of film artists and professionals from around the world to join the Academy,” Academy CEO Bill Kramer and president Lynette Howell Taylor shared in a statement, via THR. “Through their commitment to filmmkaing, this year’s exceptionally talented class has made significant contributions to our global movie industry.”

The trailer for Jenna Ortega‘s new movie Klara and the Sun has arrived!

The 23-year-old actress stars as a robot, or an “artificial friend” in the upcoming Taika Waititi-directed film, which is based on the book of the same name by Kazuo Ishiguro.

Here’s the synopsis:

Klara and the Sun introduces audiences to Klara (Ortega), an Artificial Friend who wants nothing more than to find the perfect home. When Klara meets Josie, each immediately senses a kindred spirit in the other. Josie has a fraught relationship with her mother and they’ve suffered great loss, but Klara’s innocent wonder and unwavering loyalty begin to heal the family and bring light to Josie’s complicated world.

Also starring in the feature include Mia Tharia as Josie, Amy Adams as her mother, and Aran Murphy, Steve Buscemi and Natasha Lyonne.

In addition to directing, Taika also wrote the movie with Dahvi Waller, and her serves as a producer.

Klara and the Sun is set to debut in theaters on October 23rd.

If you missed it, Jenna was seen on set filming for the upcoming third season of her Netflix series Wednesday. She’s also set to star in another movie, Lily May B.

Jenna Ortega and Catherine Zeta-Jones are hitting the red carpet.

The co-stars posed for photos together as they arrived at Netflix’s Wednesday Emmys FYSEE Event on Friday (May 22) held at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

For the event, Jenna, 23, wore a cropped gray blazer with matching pants while Catherine, 56, wore a red dress with a black blazer draped over her shoulders.

In the Addams Family spinoff series Jenna stars as the titular character while Catherine plays her mother, Morticia Addams.

Jenna and Catherine are currently in the midst of filming season three of Wednesday. Last month, Jenna was spotted in Paris filming scenes with Fred Armisen, who plays Uncle Fester in the Netflix series.

Earlier this year, it was announced that Winona Ryder had joined the cast of the series for the new season!

If you don’t know, season two debuted last year and quickly became the #5 most watched English language series of all time on the streaming service, following the record-breaking success of season 1 of the global hit series. By the way, if you did not know, season one is the most watched English-language series of all time on Netflix!

Unfortunately, there will be some major cast exits ahead of season three.

Jenna Ortega is taking on an exciting new role.

The 23-year-old Wednesday actress is set to lead Lily May B from Leos Carax.

The movie marks the French director’s first project since 2021’s Annette, and will begin filming next year in Spring, per Variety.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Once upon a time, there was a little girl, a young woman and a young boy. They each held a secret too heavy to bear. They met in an end-of-the-world world, and together rode a big motorcycle through empty cities, deserted freeways, immemorial forests. On their journey, they encountered many dangers, but kept going. In search of who they were; in search of a place to B, maybe?”

“Once upon a time, this is what destroyed us, and this is what kept us alive,” the director teased of the project, via Variety.

“To me, Leos Carax is one of the reasons I fell in love with Cinema. Having the chance to embark on this first journey alongside him means a great deal to me. Lily May B carries forward his singular vision with the freedom, raw emotion, and visual power that are uniquely his. Seeing this universe meet Jenna Ortega’s immense talent today feels simply natural,” producer Hugo Selignac said in a statement.

The rest of the cast, described as “A-list,” will be announced in September.

Jenna Ortega was seen filming scenes for Wednesday Season 3 a few weeks ago as well.
