Jenna Ortega hit the red carpet at the Fairmont Century Plaza for the 2023 SAG Awards on Sunday evening (February 26) at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The 20-year-old Wednesday star opted for an edgy black dress that would have made her character Wednesday Addams proud.

Her gown featured an asymmetrical neckline and a slit up the front. She accessorized with a shimmering necklace, bracelet and rings and a pair of black, open-toed heels.

Jenna wore her hair in elegant waves and highlighted her eyes with a subtle but shimmery makeup look.

Going into the evening, Jenna is up for one SAG Award – Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series. She faces off against Christina Applegate (Dead to Me), Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary) and Jean Smart (Hacks).

Jenna Ortega had quite the experience while filming Wednesday season one.

The 20-year-old star of the show previously shared that she took lessons for fencing and cello in preparation for the character, but her schedule took a toll on her.

At one point during filming, she also contracted COVID.

Recently, Jenna opened up about her grueling schedule.

“It was show up to set two hours early, do that 12-14 hour day, then go home and then get on a Zoom and have whatever lesson that I had. Or show up to my apartment, my cello teacher was already waiting for me,” the actress said at a Q&A, via Variety. “It was just constantly going, and if you could on a weekend, if we weren’t shooting the sixth day that week, it was ‘All right, well then, we’ll get your lessons in on that day.’”

The “Paint it Black” cello sequence was especially hard to get down, as Jenna noted she had to switch teachers due to moving abroad for filming, and the piece was meant for two cellos, but she was doing it with only one.

“I did not get any sleep. I pulled my hair out,” Jenna shared. “There’s so many FaceTime calls that my dad answered of me hysterically crying.”

However, director and producer Tim Burton assured her that she would do well, saying, “Oh, don’t worry, you’re going to do great. It’s gonna look great.”

As filming went on, Jenna said that they “started running out of time because Wednesday’s in pretty much every scene.”

“They had to start using stunt doubles or occasionally cello doubles if they didn’t have time to get hands, but I was very adamant about being as well prepared as possible because I wanted them to be able to use myself, because that’s so much more believable if you could see your face,” she added.

Hopefully season two isn’t as rigorous for the actress!

The fourth season of You just premiered and there’s a familiar face that you won’t see in the new episodes.

Jenna Ortega starred in season two as Ellie Alves and she is one of the few series regulars who befriended Penn Badgley‘s Joe and lived to see another day. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been back on the show since the end of season two and the show’s creator is addressing her absence.

“We wanted to bring Ellie back and we heard, ‘Oh, Jenna is doing some show,’” showrunner and co-creator Sera Gamble told IndieWire. “It’s been just such a pleasure to see Jenna this year. We have ideas for Ellie if her schedule allows her to visit us again.”

As you probably know, that “show” is Netflix’s hit series Wednesday.

“Any character who’s not dead who knows anything about Joe, it’s fair game to try to exert any justice. And any character who is dead, he has a really active imagination,” Sera said. “These are some busy, in-demand actors.”

Jenna previously told Teen Vogue, “It would be amazing to see Ellie come back and take control of her life. I just want her to be an even bigger badass. I don’t want her to come back and be extremely vulnerable and sad. We have to remember that even though people still find Joe somewhat charming, he’s evil, he does terrible things, and he gets away with them because of his gender and race and his position in society. [Ellie] has so much potential and so much talent that she shouldn’t waste because of him.”

Emma Myers is reacting to a possible romance between her and Jenna Ortega‘s characters on the Netflix seriesWednesday!

Fans have been shipping Enid and Wednesday together, and hope that the two will get together in the future.

If you recall, Enid had Ajax (Georgie Farmer) as a love interest in season one, while Wednesday had both Xavier (Percy Hynes White) and Tyler (Hunter Doohan).

Recently, Emma, who plays Enid of course, shared what she thinks about the roommates becoming a couple.

“Anything is possible in the show. We haven’t really spoken about direction at all, so I don’t really know what the game plan is for anything,” Emma shared with Variety. The show only officially got renewed a few weeks ago.

“As far as love interests go for Wednesday, I feel like at least for a second season, she needs to take her season of singleness,” she continued. “She just had a whole fiasco with her men, she’s got to lay it off for a little bit. I would be deterred from dating anybody if I had gone through that.”

Lana Condor and Madeleine Arthur stepped out for the premiere of The Locksmith held at UTA Screening Room on Monday evening (January 30) in Los Angeles.

The To All The Boys co-stars and IRL besties both opted for a black blazer moment for the screening.

Also seen in attendance were stars of the movie Ryan Phillippe, Charlie Weber and Gabriela Quezada.

The upcoming movie follows Miller (Phillippe), an ex-con recently released from prison for a bungled robbery, tries to walk a straight line and work his way back into the lives of his ex, Beth (Kate Bosworth), a police detective, and their young daughter.

While Miller is doing his best to stay on the straight and narrow with the help of an old friend (Ving Rhames), he finds his past will not stay in the past, and he is forced to commit one last crime before he can truly walk away. Things once again go badly, and now not only his freedom, but also his daughter’s life, hang in the balance.

Jenna Ortega is mourning the loss of actress Lisa Loring.

The late actress passed away this past weekend at the age of 64, after being taken off life support following a massive stroke, with her daughter Vanessa Foumberg confirming the sad news.

“She went peacefully with both her daughters holding her hands,” she shared with Variety.

Lisa was most well-known for portraying Wednesday Addams in the 1960s TV series, The Addams Family, which aired for two seasons.

“It is with great sadness that I report the death of our friend, Lisa Loring. 4 Days ago she suffered a massive stroke brought on by smoking and high blood pressure. She had been on life support for 3 days. Yesterday, her family made the difficult decision to remove it and she passed last night,” Lisa‘s close friend Laurie Jacobson shared on Facebook.

“She is embedded in the tapestry that is pop culture and in our hearts always as Wednesday Addams. Beautiful, kind, a loving mother, Lisa’s legacy in the world of entertainment is huge. And the legacy for her family and friends — a wealth of humor, affection and love will long play in our memories. RIP, Lisa. Damn, girl…you were a ton of fun.”

Following the news, Jenna, who currently plays Wednesday Addams on Netflix, took to her Instagram Story to mourn the loss.

“Absolutely devastated. Thank you for everything,” she wrote, while sharing two photos of Lisa in character as Wednesday.

About Gaga getting in on the Wednesday TikTok trend, she told Variety, “It’s really strange. You know what’s funny? A long time ago I worked with a hairdresser that worked with Gaga and I just had seen Gaga in concert a few years before. [The hairdresser got] Gaga [to make] me a video saying she heard I was a fan. Gaga made me a sweet video. I doubt she remembers. But to see her to do that now…it’s one of those moments you realize life changes really fast.”

It’s finally official – Wednesdaywill be back for a second season!

Netflix teased the announcement late Thursday evening (January 5) before revealing the news the next morning.

“It’s been incredible to create a show that has connected with people across the world,” showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar shared withTudum. “Thrilled to continue Wednesday’s tortuous journey into season two. We can’t wait to dive head first into another season and explore the kooky spooky world of Nevermore. Just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first.”

So, it’s a little unusual that one of Netflix’s most popular TV shows of all time, Wednesday, has not had a season two announcement from the streamer yet.

Well, there’s some interesting information that fans have put together involving a possible motive behind this decision.

Last year, it was announced that Amazon and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) had officially merged. The $8.5 billion deal closed in March of 2022, and Wednesday debuted on Netflix in November of 2022. The issue? MGM owns the rights to The Addams Family, meaning Amazon theoretically could have first dibs for the show to be on Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service for season 2. The show stars Jenna Ortega in the lead role.

Some other details have been explained including that Amazon previously said it does not plan to exclusively stream the rights to all MGM content. In addition, Netflix could theoretically pay for the rights to stream season two, The Independent reports.

None of this has been confirmed by any party involved, so at this time, it’s largely speculation that is now spreading rapidly on social media.

If you missed it, a Netflix exec was asked if Wednesday was getting a season two and now, knowing this information, perhaps his answer was a little more telling!
